Maternal Health Hypnothereapy

Preparation for birth is not just physical but also emotional. This is where I feel so passionate to empower all women to feel as confident as possible so they can look forward to their birth without fear interrupting their right to enjoy their experience. Birth is natural normal event in a woman’s life and when it is viewed and respected from this perspective then birth is far more likely to occur normally, naturally and most importantly joyfully.

As a midwife I have had the privilege of working with many birthing women and have therefore been able to witness the beauty of how strong and capable women are. When I work with you my aim is to support you in any way you need in order for you to truly feel this confidence and know you have all the resources you need to birth your baby.

No matter how your baby enters the world the use of self-hypnosis can allow you to have a positive birth experience.

I will teach you this easy process of self-hypnosis and also use my therapeutic skills to enhance this experience and increase your confidence for birth and parenting.

Testimonial

“Despite an eventful labour & birth I must thank-you Louise for everything you did. I found it easy to focus on my breathing during some stressful moments which I know you helped with. We are now adjusting to our new lifestyle & are so in love with our little fella.”

Processing of Previous Birth Trauma

Unfortunately, trauma can be experienced as a result of birth. It can be from physical injuries endured during the birth or as a result of the birth itself and how it was managed. Trauma can also be experienced in the form of emotional distress. Both have direct effects on each other and interfere with a mother’s ability to not only cope with parenting but also enjoy it. Trauma can & often effects partners also. Anxiety, depression and PTSD (Post-Traumatic stress disorder) can result from birth trauma.

Hypnotherapy and in particular EMDR can be very effective to assist processing of trauma so that parents can feel better equipped to focus on parenting and feel mentally well.

Other Benefits and Applications

As hypnotherapy can, not only alter a person’s emotional perception but also their physical one, it can be helpful to reduce morning sickness and improve any bodily discomforts during pregnancy. Needle phobia can be helped along with any lifestyle modification like ceasing to smoke or dietary changes. Woman undergoing fertility treatment can benefit greatly by the enhanced stress reducing effects of hypnosis.
