Hi I'm Louise and I'm so happy you're here...Â
Â
This is my story
Â
As a health care practitioner, I have always had a fascination about the mind/body connection. That relationship that exists between our mental well being and physical health. Although I originally undertook hypnosis training to offer birthing women another tool for pregnancy and birthing, I became aware that hypnosis is an incredibly powerful tool to create change in a person both physically and emotionally. I have since had the privilege to work with many people of all ages and together helping them towards the change they are seeking.
Â
I have worked for many years as a registered nurse and midwife in both public and private hospital settings, which has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of medical conditions, treatments, and the healthcare system. My experience spans a wide range of areas where hypnotherapy can be applied effectively. I am dedicated to continuously enhance my practice by staying updated with research-based evidence and pursuing further education in accordance with industry standards.
I am proud to be a member of professional organisations such as SASH (South Australian Society of Hypnosis), ASCH (Australian Society of Clinical Hypnotherapists), an affiliate member of the IHS (International Hypnotherapy Society) and IMDHA (international medical and dental hypnotherapy association). These affiliations enable me to stay connected with a network of fellow professionals and access valuable resources to better serve my clients.
About my work in the maternal space
Since I was a small child I always knew I would become a midwife. I held such fascination around the human body and could not wait to be able to care for birthing woman and their babies. Â Long ago I started to travel the path towards my dream which required me to work as a nurse before I could begin my studies to become a midwife. I am very grateful for this experience as a nurse as it gave me an in-depth understanding of the human body and I loved working with people in all areas of health care.
I feel fortunate that my midwifery studies focusing on midwives meeting the needs of birthing woman as opposed to a becoming a practitioner that fitted in to meet the needs of a healthcare system. Whilst the health care system in Australia works extremely well for most, you may find there may be gaps and this can be where I can assist.
With over 20 yearsâ experience in the health care, I have had the pleasure and honour to be with many families during their pregnancy, birth and beyond. My career has mostly been spent in busy public hospitals covering all areas of maternal health care from antenatal, labour ward, postnatal to nursery and neonatal intensive care.
When I reflect upon my own parenting journey one of the most important factors for it to be a positive one was my knowledge. Knowledge of my body, my health care providers, the health care system I was in and my choices.
Another passion and interest of mine for a long time has been the study of yoga. Â I am a pre and post-natal yoga teacher. The addition of hypnotherapy to my qualifications was always intended to enhance my service to birthing families. It was with this additional knowledge that I could reflect upon and see the true connection between our bodies and minds.

More about me
When not at work (which never feels like work these days) I am so lucky to be a Mum to 3 beautiful people who have taught me more than my formal education ever could. I am also a wife to a wonderful husband & together we all share a home with many other creatures furry, feathered and scaly all living in harmony (most of the time anyway). I love taking my dogoâs for walks in the hills and feel very blessed my lot although I still hope to one day add an alpaca and peacock to our menagerie đ
